On June 3, 2007 I lost a friend
Ranger Facts
Ranger came to us on May 16th, 2007 just like you see him, without a name, skinny, thirsty and left in the park. He knew he belonged to someone, though they did not know he belonged to them, he was always trying to go somewhere, or find his people. We took him in, named him Ranger, feed him, watered him and loved him, he was a smart dog, learned his new name in 10 minutes, came when you called him, loved on you 24/7. That did not stop him or hinder him, he was still trying to go someplace, we told him he should stay put and if his people wanted to they would find him, and he would be safe here. On June 3, 2007 Ranger calculated his escape plan and still dragging the leash we had on him headed for his destination. Which turned out to be heaven, I was hoping to make him my hiking buddy, and I will go hiking with him in heaven. Thank you God for the time we had with him. Thank you God for taking care of him for us. I did not expect it to hurt so much, after all we only had a short time together, but it does, and I will miss you Ranger.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Bob ~ During the first week of October 2007 God blessed me with another dog to rescue and take stick hunting and hiking with me.
Bob came to me at the sell barn with most of the skin on his tail gone, I don't know how that happened, but I did take him to the vet, give him his antibiotics, feed him and love him, he is a great dog, and I love is company. PS Bob plays a great game of keep away.
